The Cooperative also packs with the “Salúquia” brand, a traditional Moura brand with a legendary stamp, from the time when the Arabs occupied the Iberian Peninsula.

Salúquia was the alcalde of Moura and was going to marry the alcalde of Arouche.

However, the Christians, ambushed in the dense olive grove around the castle, came out onto the path, killed the Moors and put on their costumes.

Salukia, who was watching them from the castle tower, thought it was the groom and his entourage, and ordered the bridge to be lowered.

But when he realized what a deception he had fallen into, he grabbed the keys to the city and threw himself from the tower. This, in a nutshell, is the story of Salukia.
